1/101 — Getting Out of a Car

This is easily the worst part of my day because I know it’s going to suck but I can’t avoid it. Most cars are designed to be economical and a consequence of this is how small the doors are and how low they are to the ground. Exiting said machine I am forced to assume the role of amateur contortionist while I engage all four limbs simultaneously while avoiding near indifference from fellow commuters. If I’m going to work this means the added stress of going to the passenger side of the vehicle where I must collect and organise at least two bags filled with laptops and supplies all while trying to clock in on time.

The problem is at its most outrageous when Ubers, or any taxi service, is involved. All of the abovementioned problems are present except the car isn't even yours nor does it ever come to a complete stop because in the driver’s mind the trip ended and they are already on to the next fair.

I hate getting out of a car
